Almogrief saw Oric and quickly grabbed a glass of wine before walking over to him "Good you could join us Oric, and no you did not make a promotion..." he said as he handed over the glass of wine to Oric.

It took some time for Storal's words to sink in.

Yes Sussex is all good as far as I know. Actually, Edwa and me were planning on taking a trip around our county to recruit some more knights. It sure is needed. The KoP is going through a major change, but recruiting will always be the same.

Oric takes the glass and chuggs. "OH MAN! That hits the spot bud thanks..."

Chemai steps up to recieve her promotion apologising profusely for being late.

"Am I too late?"

Viktor lifts his other mug, which is full enough to take some time to drain it properly. There is still a third mug in his pack.

"It's okay. I have plenty, but thank you. There's plenty enough for you too. I get you something, yes? No? Maybe?"

Viktor grabs a house mug and presents it to Desi full of Turkish herbal tea, imported despite the Ottoman wars. Then he resumes his artful playing of his balalaika.

"Ah, apple tea, or mint? I'm sure it will be good. There was a Turk used to live in Birmingham. Gone now..."

Viktor abruptly stops playing.

"Gone? . . oh, that's mint. What you mean, gone? Accepted our gifts and hospitality and fanned hopes he would help with building town? now gone?"

Viktor shakes his head and resumes playing.

I'm not sure. One day he was just gone. I heard rumours of witchcraft or some other reason for the King's men dragging him away for execution. It was a while ago now...

At the mention of witchcraft and executions, the room falls silent with a collective gasp. Soon the background noise resumes, but Viktor looks puzled.

"How is . . . Not this . . . No. Not this man. Grumpy, yes. Pushy, sure. Evil, maybe I don't think so."

Viktor cups his hand over his mouth and whispers . . .

"Is not witch. I am sure."

More puzzled yet by a lack of response, Viktor looks, almost betrayed...

"Is not, yes?"

"Viktor, we should not speak ill of the dead. Donmez rests with the Gods now. But there was talk of.... irregularities in Turkey, which is why he returned to England. Doubtless the King's investigators found out the truth of it. Least said, soonest mended..."

M'lady I've brought this back from my Offices It's a fine tea, raspberry sweetness abounds in its flavour I go to great lengths to acquire it.

I must say, It will be best enjoyed sharing it with A friend.

Perhaps you have met Her before. Ama, the one closest to capturing my heart and lifting it to the heavens, But alas each time we drew closer duty called me away.

Viktor ponders a moment, knowing Lady Desi is right in what she said. no point speaking ill of the dead. What happened happened. It was a tragic loss and a chilling reminder of the realities of life in this era.

"I hope you come back to stay in Birmingham. Is good place for you. Is better place because of you. Good to see you here and well. There was much fear you had been taken away . . . It's good you weren't. I see I am not first or last to welcome you here. Enjoy. This is where Viktor goes to live up to your kind words. So many heroes here. Maybe one day Viktor can be one, yes?"

Viktor nods slightly, raises his mug in a parting gesture and even offers a smile as he disappears into the crowd, headed toward the door to return to his duties.

Desi accepts the tea with a smile.

"I'm afraid that Cornwall is the one county I haven't been to in England. I'm travelling at the moment, but will be back in Birmingham soon, I hope. I must attend to my studies..."
