Promotion Awards Ceremony for January, 1456

The Promotion Awards Ceremony for January of this new year of our Lord 1456 will commence shortly.
Lydia is overseeing all operations as the everyday ins and outs of the KoP HQ are still in full swing.
The back ground entertainment is in place.
The refreshments and the foods are being brought in by various vendors and merchants.
Plenty of mead and meat.
Knights and General, Commanders and guests will be arriving soon and so the Great Hall's fire place has been cleaned and seen to it's safety and readiness and is being stoked into flame as we read to give a warmth and welcome to all who enter these great hall of the Knights of the Pheonix.

Further down the wood has been sheened and everything dusted to welcome first time guest or long time Knight alike.

And the chapel is always accessible to everyone for a brief repose.

There will be a head table for sure.

Things are still being arranged and set up in several of the dinning rooms.

The staff is busy with preparations.

Refreshments and hors deuvres have been brought to the Grand Hall.

Hoping that things will be enough for now, Lydia heads on over to the main halls to get things ready from there.

Bringing the solid black stallion named Midnight to a halt in front of the Castle, the large, hooded and cloaked man dis-mounts. When the Castle guard approaches and says Identify yourself, the cloaked figure looks at the guard with ice blue eyes and hands him the reins to the stallion. As the guards eyes fall on the signet ring worn by the man before him, his heart skips a beat. Never did he think he would meet the man before him now. Coming to attention and snapping a salute, the guard tells the man, Sir I will tend to this fine beast myself. In a gruff voice the man says carry on Seargent and enters the castle. As he wonders from room to room, he nods occasionally. Finally spotting MSgt l.moringstern, He calls out Well Done! Shall we now proceed?

Arriving for the ceremony, PVT McMannanan looks up in awe at the castle. He hopes that spending the last 3 days washing and polishing his mess dress uniform will make him presentable. He approaches the gate and is stopped by the guards.

"Identify yourself!"

He salutes the guards. "PVT McMannanan, reportin' as ordered fer th' ceremony!"

The guards eye him carefully. They talk between themselves. They turn and look at him again and go back to muttering and whispering back and forth.
Finally, one of them says, "Wait here one moment!"

Not seeing much choice, PVT McMannanan stands to the side as other soldiers and knights begin to arrive, going past with relative ease. He is starting to feel uneasy. He looks over his uniform once more, in case he missed something. Not seeing anything, he goes back to standing fast for the guards to let him pass...

Merlyna heading south again witht he army takes a little side track and stops in for the ceremony. She arrives just as she sees a cloaked man entering the castle. She stops at the gate to let the sergeant know who she is and then brings her horse to the stables and quickly takes off the saddle and reigns and give her horse a quick brush down. Throwing some hay down and making sure there is water for her mount, Merlyna takes he satchel and makes her way inside the castle. She soon finds a servent who points her inthe direction of a changing room so she can wash the travel from her and change into her Dress Uniform. Taking a brush to her hair she puts it up, as this is not the time for her hair to hang down as it were. She take s astep back and looks in the mirror and figureds thats about as good as its gonna get and heads out into the corridor and looks orund for the main hall where the ceremony will take place. Before long, she comes across BG Correus and Msgt Lydia.

Greetings to you both, is there anything that I can do to help before anyone else starts to arrive?

Brigadier General! What an Honor, Lydia salutes in her fine gown and rushes about.
You are...somewhat early Sir. May I escort you to the Great Hall Sir?
She was not expecting him until later. She looks around hoping tht everything will be in place soon.

Trey walks into the entrance of the cermonies noticing that the guards never stoped him he looks over and see's the brigadier general and now knows why.

No Lydia, You should rest and prepare yourself. I will walk the halls and greet everyone. You may join me when you are ready. In fact, I see two Knights in need of an Ale now. Merlyna, Macmannanan. Join me!

Hearing his name called, he steps up quickly to follow the General.

Seeing his sister come along as well, he whispers to her, "Good t' see ye Sis, I thought I'd hae t' do this alone."

He greets his County Commander and squadmate, "Greetins, SgtM, long time ,nae see."

Grins and gives her brother a big hug since she hadnt seen him in so long. She then follows close behind Correus when he starts talking about having an ale.

Greetings Brother! Its good ta see ya. Did ye manage to get the gift I sent down from Cumberland yet? Its good to see you again Lord Correus, its been far too long.

Merlyna flashes Correus a wide grin.

Now what were you saying about an ale?

"Aye, Sis, I did, tho' tis a wee bit smae fer me. Thank ye very much tho'. It gies me a goal t' lose some o' this ale keg in me middle."

He looks to the General, taking his lead from the great man before him.

She looks her brother up and down and thinks of the ensamble she had sent down to him...

Ehh come on now it wasn't that small...

She grins and gives him a wink.

"Oh, nae, th' shirt an' ghillies fit fine, thank ye. Th' kilt tho', somethin' happen'd on th' trip, methinks, cos it seems more like a scarf. I can nae wear tha' in public, unless I be 'bout t' gie a sessanach a bleachin'. An' e'en then, I'd hae t' be utterly drunk out o' me noggin."
